You have in mind to learn to fly a model helicopter properly and to control your first model yourself. You are interested in this beautiful and exciting hobby and would like to do a free trial flight with us, then come to the flight school Heli Baumann and you will reach your goal with some practice and our support.
We offer you a wide variety of offers. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced pilot who wants to expand his skills and learn new figures - with us you are at the right place.
The courses are divided into different levels of difficulty. In one lesson you will complete about 4-5 flights of 10-12 minutes each with one of our training helicopters.
Trial flights can be arranged with us by phone or by mail and last for one flight, which is 10-12 minutes. The trial flights are free of charge and can only be booked once per person.
What do you have to bring to the course or to the trial flight?
Basically only you. In summer it is recommended to bring a drink and a good sun protection in case of hot temperatures. In winter, good clothing is an advantage.
If you have your own transmitter harness, you are welcome to bring it.
What kind of models do you fly?
We usually train with helicopters in the 550 or 600 size. Currently with the proven Gaui X5 or the Logo 550/600.
How do I get an appointment, when is the training?
The easiest way is to send us an email or call us, then we can arrange an ideal date. We train mainly on Tuesday and Friday in the afternoon.
What do I learn in each lesson?
The courses are divided into the following levels:
Hovering and sightseeing
Hovering is the basis for model helicopter flying. The first step is to hover. Here you can get to know the 4 control functions pitch, roll, pitch and tail.
- Hovering in simple position
- 4 point hovering incl. nose hovering
- Round flight always on both sides
- Flying a clean 8
Take off and landing
For independent flying it is important to be able to take off and land the model correctly and in a controlled manner. Here you will learn what has to be considered for a correct take-off and landing.
- controlled takeoff
- landing approach
- targeted and controlled landing
roll and loop
A course for advanced pilots who want to try their first aerobatic maneuvers. Flying a clean loop or a clean 4 point roll takes a little practice. We will help you to master this hurdle and give you tips on how to continue training yourself.
- Looping to perfection
- What do you have to keep in mind to make the loop really round?
- simple roll, 4 point roll without loss of height
Inverted hover and autorotation
Now it's time for the first aerobatics and 3D base. The inverted hover forms the basis for the inverted flight and associated figures, such as the funnel and the huricane.
- How to change from normal to inverted position
- Inverted hovering in all directions
- Inverted flight
Autorotation can be a model life saver for many pilots. Likewise, for many 3D pilots, autorotation is the completion of their flight. Autorotation involves a precision landing without an engine.
- What to consider when landing without engine
- correct control of the pitch
- get to know the "sailing characteristics" of a model helicopter
We also offer the possibility to learn further 3D maneuvers by arrangement.
We are looking forward to welcoming you soon in our flight school.
